Well we got our Audience Feedback and generally we're pretty happy with the results. Each of the questions were scored out of 5, with 1 being low and 5 being high. Here are the average results!
The Film
1. Did you enjoy the film? (avg. 4)

3. Did you think the narrative was clear? (avg. 3)
4. Comment on the complexity of the film. (avg. 4)
The Poster
1. Did you like the poster? (avg. 5)
The Review

So all in all the audience feedback was hugely possitive. The main issues flagged were the distorted audio, and the unclear naritive.
The audio issues will be fixed by this time next week, when we have re-recorded the vocal track, getting rid of all background noise.
We understand that some people found the narritive unclear, however I do think to an extent, once the audience can hear what the characters are actually saying this will improve. We also dont want to make the narritive too simple as to not be patronising to our target audience. We will report back after the vocal track has been recorded and will let you know whether in our opinion the narritive has become clearer.

Audience Feedback
How Do,
We've spent the last lesson creating an audience feedback powerpoint that will be shown to the AS Media Studies group tommorow. We have asked a combination of questions about The Film, The Review and The Poster. The questions are as follows;

First Draft Complete
Hoorah! Finally completed the first draft of the film, poster and review have been handed in.

First Draft is Rendered!
Right, so the first draft has been rendered to the school computers, and is ready to be test screened to potential viewers.
Before we did export the final movie, we made a few changes to the clips before Violet appears. We upped the contrast and took the brightness down, aswell as adding a 50% black and white filter to the shots. We also increased the shadow blues, to create a bleak and dismal look, modelled on some of the shots from 'The Road'. If I remember, I will upload a before and after shot of the edited shots, but until then you can see a still from The Road and trust us that it looks a bit like it!

Overdubbing
Morning,
Just been looking at the footage, and one of the main problems that is consistant throughout the project is the sound quality. We filmed on a particularly windy day, and unfortunately that interfeered with the microphone, distorting some of the sound. For the most part, it's not too much of a problem, however in a lot of the film I feel the distortion of the vocals takes away from the poiniancy of the dialogue.
We hope we'll be able to rectify this by re-recording some of the dialogue, using an external microphone. I plan to isolate the parts that need recording, and export them as audio files. I then plan to loop the clips and play them through headphones to the actors, who will then record them again into the mic. Finally, I will delete the audio off the videos in the project, and replace them with the newly recorded clips, that combined with some background noise we recorded should sound substancially better.

Getting there!
Hey,
Been a while since I've posted on the blog, due to (you've guessed it) technical difficulties. However, things are most certainly looking up. Using the structure of our initial Premiere Pro file, we've managed to reconstruct the bare bones of The Lost Ones in Sony Vegas. This means we now just have to do little tweaks (the stop motion, cut scenes, colouring, overdub etc) and we can export a first draft! Hooray! Be expecting it by the end of next week.
We plan on a test screening of the film, once the first draft is complete to gather audience feedback, so be expecting the results of that soon as well.
Onwards and upwards I guess,
